We are looking for a specialist music teacher to cover maternity leave from January 2025.
You will be responsible to the Headteacher to promote and support the progress of all children to achieve the highest possible standards in music.Main Purpose of the Role: • Provide high-quality music education, enabling pupils to develop a love for music and to nurture their talents as musicians.• Create music-based opportunities and events both within school and the wider community.• Co-ordinate extra-curricular music activities.General Responsibilities:• Support the vision, ethos, and policies of the school.• Contribute significantly to the school improvement plan's aims, objectives, and implementation.• Maintain high standards of professional conduct.• Lead music groups across the school and coordinate school-wide music performances and concerts.• Organize and lead music-based after-school clubs.• Collaborate with other teachers to integrate music into cross-curricular projects and school events.Teaching and Development:• Teach music as outlined in the National Curriculum to all year groups, including lessons on music theory, performance, and various musical styles and genres.• Develop, monitor, and evaluate the music curriculum, including assessing pupils' musical progress.• Serve as a role model for music teaching by demonstrating exemplary classroom practice.• Engage in continuous professional development opportunities.Communication:• Regularly update the Senior Leadership Team on the effectiveness of music provision for pupils.• Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to enrich the school's music education.• Foster effective relationships with the school community to enhance pupil engagement in music.Additional Duties:• Promote and safeguard the welfare of all pupils.• Maintain a consistently high standard of care for students.• Perform other duties to support the smooth operation of the school, as reasonably directed by the Headteacher.
