Who we are looking for?
We have a vacancies in the Plant team for multi skilled technicians to maintain the plant and facilities at Exeter Traction Depot.
This is a varied role with responsibilities for maintaining a wide range of assets and equipment at this location.
We are seeking individuals with experience in facilities maintenance or those from electrical, plumbing, and fitting backgrounds who are looking to transition into a career within the facilities maintenance sector.
This role would suit qualified Electrician, Plumber or mechanical tradespersons.
There is also a requirement to supervise contractors working on site therefore experience with contractor compliance is preferable.

Permanent and fixed-term positions available with an on-call roster requirement This dynamic role involves maintaining a wide range of GWR assets and facilities to the highest standards.
You will be responsible for routine preventative maintenance, fault finding, and resolving issues across various assets.
Additionally, you will supervise contractors, ensuring that all work is completed to required standards and in compliance with safety regulations.
Working closely with the team leader, you will regularly report defects, perform maintenance tasks, and collaborate as a team to improve processes, increase efficiency, and ensure we stay on track with the scheduled maintenance planner.
This role requires someone who can work both independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to fault finding and maintenance.
Your main responsibilities will be: Delivery of planned preventative maintenance Fault identification of the depot systems and assets Response & rectification of defects Local management and supervision of contractors on site Use of asset management systems.
Working safely within railway environment You'll need to be: Dedicated to working in a safe and efficient way Flexible, and comfortable working in a team Confident using information technology A good communicator, responsive to the depot team's needs.
Able to follow schematics and fault find on electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
As a minimum you'll need to have: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) Engineering/Technical qualification.
Additional Advantageous Qualifications: Working knowledge of industrial pumps and hydraulics Working knowledge of building facility & plant maintenance Apprenticeship in mechanical / electrical biased discipline Demonstratable knowledge of Health & Safety requirements Working Pattern?
Day rostered shift pattern - average 35 hours per week, with some weekend and on call requirements.
Additional Information?
The successful candidate must live within a one-hour commute of the depot.
