Excitingly, they are expanding their team and are on the lookout for a Mobile Elevating Working Platform Engineer to join their innovative mobile workforce!
Job Summary: As a leader in Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) within the UK utility and telecoms sector, they deliver a vast range of services across a wide geographic area.
With four fleet-oriented workshops and a robust mobile team, they are launching a dedicated squad for compliance inspection services nationwide.
Successful applicants will enjoy the freedom of working remotely, supported by a small, strategically located team.
They will receive a medium-sized commercial vehicle, a PDA, a phone, and specialized tools to excel in their role.
General Duties: Collaborate with team members and controllers to plan and execute routine visits to customer locations for compliance inspections.
Provide expert SMR for critical equipment, including On Board Power Systems, Swing Lifts, and Access Platforms.
Conduct service inspections on vehicle ancillary equipment using user-friendly PDA software.
Perform regular maintenance and repairs to keep equipment running smoothly and minimize downtime.
Manage supplies and stock of consumables and fast-moving parts with support from a team supervisor.
Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle, ensuring it's always presentable and in serviceable condition through daily checks.
Deliver high-quality work, releasing vehicles or plant only when they are safe and fully operational.
Administrative Duties: Submit accurate and timely service reports detailing completed tasks to supervisors and controllers.
Create and maintain digital records of work performed, along with necessary certifications.
Health & Safety: Follow all company policies and prioritise safety for themselves and customers.
Complete required training for health and safety items, including Risk Assessments and COSHH management.
Job Type / Category: Telecommunications Sector Permanent, full-time position Enjoy flexible working hours (9-hour days, Monday to Friday) with potential for overtime to meet customer needs.
28 days of holiday, including bank holidays.
Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications: Ideally, candidates should have a mechanical or electrical background.
A strong commitment to outstanding customer service.
Ability to maintain professional qualifications and work efficiently in a mobile environment.
Conduct in alignment with company culture and policies.
IPAF and CAP training for Vehicle Mounted (1B Category).
Experience: Candidates are encouraged to apply if they possess any of the following skills, even if they don't meet all criteria: Experience in the Motor Vehicle & Automotive Sector.
Knowledge of 12v / 24v power systems.
Familiarity with vehicle ancillary equipment, such as: On Board Power Swing Lifts Power inverters MEWP Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
Capability to drive a medium-sized van.
Experience working remotely at customer locations.
Basic IT literacy to operate a PDA workstation.
License: A valid Driving License is mandatory.
