Complex Needs Teaching Assistant
Milk education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Teaching Assistant In Guildford to support students with a range of complex needs, including learning, physical, and sensory difficulties.
In this rewarding role, you will work closely with both students and educational staff to help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
Your primary responsibility will be to support students in accessing the curriculum, fostering independence, and ensuring their well-being.
Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with complex needs in the classroom and other settings.
Assist with personal care, mobility, and communication, following individual care plans.
Support students' social, emotional, and behavioral development to help them feel safe, included, and confident.
Implement and track the progress of individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning resources accordingly.
Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure each student's unique needs are met.
Promote and support students' independence and life skills development.
Assist with classroom management and support positive behavior strategies.
Provide feedback on students' progress to relevant stakeholders, including teachers and parents.
Help with the preparation of learning materials and activities that cater to a variety of learning styles.
Desirable Skills: Experience with alternative communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS).
Understanding of strategies for managing challenging behavior.
Experience working with children with physical disabilities or sensory impairments.
