Job summary We are looking for enthusiastic Midwifery Support Workers to work within our hospital and community service at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, this mayThe post holder will support and assist midwives in the delivery of holistic, high quality; evidence based antenatal and postnatal care to women/ childbearing people, babies and families and their families.
experience of working within the NHS an advantage.The post holder will undertake unsupervised aspects of care and therapeutic intervention as delegated by the midwife, within agreed guidelines and sphere of responsibility.
Main duties of the job This role provides support to Midwives ensuring that women receive high standards of maternity care throughout our service.
You must possess excellent communication and team working qualities with a willingness to learn new skills, with full training and support provided, and also have the ability to work under your own initiative and as part of the multi-professional post holder will be required to work a shift pattern that covers nights, weekends and Bank holidays.

Person Specification Qualifications and Training Essential -GCSE Maths Grades A-C, Levels 4-9, Functional Skills Level 2 -GCSE English Grades A-C, Levels 4-9, Functional Skills Level 2 -NVQ Level 3 in Health care -Commit to undertake in-house training.
-Care certificate Desirable -Care Certificate Supervisor -NHS experience an advantage Experience and Knowledge Essential -Previous experience of working with members of the public -Understanding of Safeguarding issues -Awareness of Health and Safety issues -Knowledge and understanding of data protection confidentially Desirable -One year's clinical experience in a hospital setting -Experience of using hospital patient record system -Experience of providing high quality care -Evidence of continuing professional development -Experience of supporting mothers with infant feeding Skills and Abilities Essential -Approachable manner with good interpersonal skills -Effective written and verbal communication skills -Ability to prioritise workload.
-Ability to work without direct supervision.
-Understanding of the role and own professional boundaries -Able to identify when to escalate issues/concerns.
- Ability to work as part of team and to liaise with colleagues in other disciplines.
