Role Description As a Mid-Level Front-End Developer, you'll contribute to our development standards and best practices. You'll collaborate with the team on design, structure, and architectural implementations while working closely with senior developers during sprints. You'll be joining a small but highly collaborative team, participating in technical discussions and contributing valuable insights to project planning.
Key Responsibilities: - Implement responsive and performant front-end solutions
- Write and maintain tests for components and utilities
- Write clean, maintainable code following team standards
- Contribute to technical discussions and architecture decisions
- Work within agile sprints to deliver features
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Share knowledge of front-end best practices with the team
Essential Skills · 3+ years of professional experience with React
· Demonstrable experience developing high quality consumer facing UI's with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML & Post CSS
· Experience with state management libraries like Redux or MobX
· Solid understanding of front-end build tools and processes, including Webpack, Babel, and package managers (npm or yarn).
· Familiarity with responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility techniques.
· Experience with version control systems, preferably Git
· Strong unit testing with jest & automated UI testing experience with cypress
· Experience integrating API's of varying technologies (REST, WebAPI, SOAP)
· Experience working in an agile development environment
· Strong ability to communicate well with colleagues and management throughout a project
Beneficial skills
· Experience building SPAs consuming RESTful microservice APIs
· An ability to contribute to design/architecture decisions that shape a software platform
· Solid understanding/application of the fundamentals of software engineering principles
· Knowledge of progressive web applications (PWAs) and service workers.
· Experience with front-end performance optimization techniques and tools. Location Head Office in Cardiff. Office-based / hybrid / remote options available.
