The role:You will be responsible for designing and building high quality and customer centric solutions within our platform team. You will work with Senior Product Managers, Technical Leads, UX Designers, QAs, and a team of talented engineers to bring our vision for the platform enablement team to life. This role will also play a key part in our continuous improvement journey, building out high levels of pipeline automation, great unit testing, and ensuring we live up to our engineering policies, processes, and standards.
Here's what you'll be getting up to:Writing code which satisfies medium complexity tasks and user stories and submitting good quality pull requests which pass a test before merge.Leading solution design for medium and low-complexity problems.Picking up moderate and high complexity bugs, troubleshooting them, and fixing them via good quality pull requests.Meeting the acceptance criteria for medium complexity tasks and stories before the pull request is merged.Conducting medium complexity code reviews from other developers, and providing quality feedback.Adhering to the software engineering process in full.Bringing and executing ideas to improve automation and reduce manual steps.Continually improving coding skills and achieving a high PR review pass rate.Understanding technical debt and demonstrating reduction of long-standing technical debt.Being a vocal and opinionated team member, ready to offer feedback and advice.Prioritising documentation before development and ensuring it is current at all times.Fully adhering to the Scrum process to ensure quality definitions are met.Designing solutions with security first principles.Mentoring and coaching junior members of the team.Contributing to the OKR process.Here's what we're looking for:Passion for continuously improving the software delivery lifecycle.Experience in influencing and guiding product strategies through technical knowledge.Hands-on development experience with server development.Team management and mentorship experience.Experience in adhering to and improving operational excellence.Deep understanding of DevOps best practices.Good working experience in security first software development.Knowledge in topics like Distributed systems, Analytics, RPC, 3rd party integrations, etc.Exceptional attention to detail.Experience building applications in Go, C, C++.Familiarity with Kubernetes or other orchestration tools.Experience with Redis, MongoDB/SQL.Here's why you should join us:Everyone has unlimited paid holiday.Total flexibility in hours.Employee share scheme.Generous maternity and paternity leave.Company retreats.Tyk is an equal opportunities employer and we are determined to ensure that no applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, age, disability, religion, belief, sexual orientation, marital status, or race.
