Our professional and supportive team respond to the needs of children both pre and post diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.The post holder will carry out initial assessments of service users following NICE guidelines as part of a multi-disciplinary team and participate in the shared caseload of the team.
As a Non-Medical Prescriber, the post holder will be responsible for prescribing ADHD medication, titration, and monitoring of effectiveness of selected treatments.
Providing families with non medicine strategies alongside medication to support management of symptoms for the child.The post holder will operate as part of the ADHD and nursing team, being able to offer support and assessment in a variety of environments.
This will include working with the specialist nursing team in special schools, supporting children with SEND and ADHD.
Main duties of the job Clinical – to formulate, contribute to, and participate in the development and implementation of assessment and care planning systems in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
To manage a caseload of children requiring assessment, review and management of ADHD.
Supporting parents with alternative strategies to manage the child's symptoms.To carry out generic specialist assessments, including risk and provide therapeutic interventions.
Assist in the development and implementation of integrated care pathways, including appropriate service user assessments/referrals and models of care.
Ensure record keeping is in accordance with Professional and Trust standards.
Ensure safe management of medicines and adhere to safe practice and principles of administration in accordance with NMC code of professional conduct and Trust Medicines policy.
Work in a professional and collaborative manner with the MDT.
Participate and promote positive intra-agency working.
Be responsible for the assessment of care needs and development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision.
Participate and assist in setting standards of service user care based on sound research findings.
Act as a knowledge resource in specialist area of practice to other team members and other agencies as required.
Working for our organisation Probationary PeriodThis post will be subject to a probationary period.

All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.
As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities ·Being a caring, compassionate, and committed experienced registered nurse and advance clinical practitioner.
Responsible for patients on their caseload and will assess, manage, diagnose, treat, plan, deliver and evaluate care.
·They will demonstrate safe, competent clinical decision-makingand expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients and provide support to families/carers, ensuring that the NMC code of professional conduct and the Trust values are followed.
·Support the team and family in breaking news of diagnoses.
Giving a diagnosis independently, being able to sign post children/YP, families/carers to available resources within the borough for additional support and information.·Ensure the provision of expert advice to the wider children's team and the multi-disciplinary team members who contribute to the management/assessment of children & young people with ADHD.·Be professionally responsible and accountable for the assessment of health needs, planning, providing and evaluation of service delivery to support the wider service provision for both individuals and groups in a defined school-age population, delegating to other professionals as appropriate.·Establish and maintain effective communication with children, young people, parents and carers, colleagues, MDT, colleagues in tertiary centres, acute sector and other stakeholders, in order to achieve a positive health outcome for the child and family.
·They will be an effective communicator being able to work collaboratively with children's service to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner.·Support the nursing team to improve health and inclusion and to tackle inequalities of health care by providing a service that encourages all to reach their full potential, taking in to consideration deprivation and diversity within the borough.·Support their peers and wider team whilst also working on their own initiative.
They will supervise the nursing team skill mix and pre-registration students.
