Main responsbilities for our Metal Recycling Operative role include: - Operating machinery (such as plasma cutters and bandsaws) to break down automotive components - Strip parts down with use of hand tools - Sorting parts into seperate categories by hand - Use of Forklift truck to move the granulated productsaround the shop floor - Working in a sampler station to help identify the concentration of precious metals in each component (e.g.
platinum/radium) Although you will likely be assigned a core area, it would be the company's vision to offer cross-training in multiple areas to maximise your knowledge.
Workwear will be provided, it may be worth noting that you will be required to wear a full protective mask & visor to help provide proper ventilation.
