Job Opportunity: Residential Childcare Worker Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people?
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Childcare Worker to join our team and provide a safe, nurturing, and high-quality living environment for young individuals.
This is an exciting opportunity to support young people in overcoming challenges, fostering independence, and achieving their full potential within a welcoming and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities: Provide High-Quality Care: Ensure a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment that meets the emotional, social, physical, and educational needs of young people in accordance with Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and relevant legislation such as the Children Acts 1989 & 2004 and Care Standards Act 2000.
Tailored Support: Deliver care that respects the cultural, racial, linguistic background, sexual orientation, religious persuasion, gender, disability, and views of each young person.
Uphold their rights, views, and wishes, including those of their families and significant others.
Team Collaboration: Work under the direction of the Registered Manager or Deputy Manager, contributing to the daily operations of the home while fostering teamwork across the organisation.
Care Planning: Actively participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating personalised care plans that promote the well-being and independence of young people.
Handle Challenging Behaviours: Manage challenging and violent behaviours in a safe and respectful way, ensuring the safety and rights of young people, colleagues, and visitors.
Mentorship & Support: Serve as a mentor and keyworker to young people, offering guidance and support, and work closely with student placements and trainee employees.
Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure up-to-date electronic records, written reports, and communication with professionals and external agencies.
What We're Looking For: Qualifications: Child Care Diploma, NVQ Level 2/3, or equivalent.
Commitment to undertaking the Level 3 Diploma for Children & Young People's Workforce.
Experience: Substantial experience working with young people, particularly those with low self-esteem, challenging behaviour, or complex care needs, in a residential setting.
Knowledge: Sound understanding of child development, safeguarding policies, and relevant legislation.
Skills: Strong communication, organisational, and mentoring skills.
Ability to manage emotions, build trust with young people, and foster positive relationships.

Full UK driving licence is desirable.
Flexibility to work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and participate in on-call rota as required.
This role involves contact with vulnerable groups and requires an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check.
