Mental Health Teaching Assistant Location: Ringwood Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on experience) Contract type: Full-time/Permanent Start date: Immediate About the Role: As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant , you will work closely with students who need extra help with their emotional and mental health to support their education.
You will have the chance to make a real difference in a school that cares about the well-being of both its students and staff.
Essential Qualities That We Are Looking For: Provide intensive support to students with mental health needs, helping them manage their emotional well-being and engage fully in their education.
Assist teachers in developing and implementing individualised support plans for students experiencing mental health challenges.
Create a nurturing and supportive environment that promotes positive mental health and well-being.
Monitor and record student progress, offering regular feedback to teachers, parents and mental health professionals as necessary.
Facilitate open communication between students, staff and families to ensure comprehensive support for each student's needs.
Promote awareness and understanding of mental health issues within the school community.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices in mental health support.
The Successful Candidate Will: Have experience working with young people in a supportive role, preferably in an education or mental health setting .
Have a caring and patient attitude, along with strong communication skills.
Have profound knowledge and understanding of mental health issues and their impact on learning .
Possess a commitment to promoting well-being and positive behaviour.
Have the ability to work both as part of a team and independently.

Have an updated CV ( with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education).
