About The Role: As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant , you will be instrumental in providing support to students who may require additional emotional and mental health assistance.
Your role will be vital in fostering a safe and nurturing environment where students can flourish both academically and personally.
Responsibilities: Deliver one-on-one and group support tailored to the needs of students with mental health challenges.
Collaborate with teachers to cultivate a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Assist students in developing coping strategies and enhancing their social skills.
Monitor student progress and provide insights to the teaching team.
Work closely with parents, educators, and specialists to ensure holistic care for each student.
Requirements: Prior experience working with young people in a supportive capacity, preferably in educational or mental health settings .
A compassionate and patient demeanor, with excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of mental health issues and their effects on learning.
Ability to work collaboratively with others as well as independently.
To work with GSL Education as a Mental Health Teaching Assistant , you should: Have the right to work in the UK.
Submit an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps).
Be open to undergoing an enhanced DBS check.
Please be aware that this position necessitates a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful candidates must complete all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS.
