About the Role: As a Mental Health Support Worker , you'll work directly with students experiencing mental health challenges, helping them navigate daily tasks, manage emotional struggles, and build resilience.
You'll be a key part of creating a supportive, positive environment where students feel valued and empowered.
Responsibilities: Offer compassionate assistance to students with mental health challenges, ensuring they feel safe and supported.
Create and apply personalised care strategies in collaboration with mental health professionals.
Actively listen to students' concerns, offering guidance and validation.
Work with teachers, mental health staff, and families to create a comprehensive support network for each student.
Help students build skills to manage stress, anxiety, and other challenges effectively.
Foster an inclusive and positive atmosphere where students feel valued and comfortable reaching out for help.
Regularly assess students' progress, adapting strategies as needed to meet their evolving needs.
Requirements: Previous experience as a Mental Health Support Worker or similar role is highly beneficial.
Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting mental health.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant qualifications in mental health support or related fields are desirable but not essential.
To work with GSL Education, you will need: Have the right to work in the UK.
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
Have a DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
