Mental Health Support Worker Location: Romsey Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on experience) Contract: Part-time/ Full-time Start Date: Immediate About the Role: As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with mental health needs, working closely with teachers, parents and other support staff to provide a nurturing and understanding environment.
Your responsibilities will include both classroom assistance and interventions, ensuring each student receives the necessary support to thrive academically and emotionally.
Essential Qualities That We Are Looking For: Provide compassionate and targeted support to students experiencing mental health challenges, fostering a safe and supportive atmosphere.
Implement one-on-one and small-group interventions tailored to each student's specific mental health needs.
Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring the inclusion and engagement of students with mental health needs.
Employ effective strategies to manage crises and emotional outbursts, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
Track and document student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of personalised support plans.
Stay abreast of the latest educational practices and Autism Spectrum Disorder strategies, engaging in continuous professional development.
What GSL Education is Looking for in the Mental Health Support Worker: Experience in a similar support role, preferably with children with autism or special educational needs Understanding of ASC and strategies to support children with additional needs Strong communication and interpersonal skills Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable Commitment to safeguarding and child protection What Do We Want From You: To thrive in these roles, you should: Have the right to work in the UK.
Have an updated CV ( with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
