About the role To source, develop and buy a commercial, comprehensive and balanced range within the parameters of the business margin goals, price architecture and seasonal timing for our Mens Buying department.
(1year FTC) Buying Deliver a balanced commercial range, which reflects the integrity of the brand and delivers a continuous profit growth Develops ranges, communicates and delivers to all critical paths across wider Men's dept including Retail, Wholesale, Franchise, International across footwear and accessories Maximise commercial opportunities and minimise areas of risk by regularly reviewing performance and trends then reacting accordingly Purchase agreed products/ranges, through a reliable and flexible supplier base ensuring price, quality and fashionability meet requirements and reinforce the brand Develop the best commercial range for the target market, ensuring that the range is consistent with our brand and fulfils the needs of the customer, working closely with the design and development team and brief Communicate and regularly update key depts across the business including VM, Marketing, Social & E-Comms and brings ideas to drive the Men's business forwards Identify commercially viable products that support and maintain the integrity of the brand Pro-actively identify possible areas of commercial risk and recommend, plan and implement appropriate action to minimise impact Identify emerging trends quickly and react accordingly Think imaginatively and generate new ideas to benefit the business.
Management and Communication Develop staff, encouraging them to learn and maximise their potential and achieve high levels of performance.
Guide and motivate them through their competencies.
Influences and communicates confidently and effectively across all areas of the business to build strong relationships Ability to plan and prioritise for all areas of the job role and all depts, organising resources effectively, implementing plans then continuously measuring and reviewing progress Ability to effectively negotiate with others in order to secure a mutually beneficial outcome, whilst maintaining integrity of the brand.
The ability to learn quickly identify issues, focussing on solutions be being open-minded, thinking laterally, then generating options before making timely and relevant decisions.
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED: Strong footwear background – Men's experience essential.
