To work as part of a secretarial team providing cross cover in the absence of other Radiology Medical Secretarial staff, thus maintaining a highly efficient secretarial service to the Consultant Radiologists/Radiology Fellows.
To develop and acquire detailed knowledge and understanding of medical terminology throughout sub-specialities, being able to undertake typing of radiology reports (all imaging modalities) to RSH Stage III standard through audio word processing, shorthand dictation and the RIS (Radiology Information System).
Distribute radiology reports as necessary to the relevant healthcare professions Deal with frequent interruption and prioritise personal and consultant workloads whilst maintaining a high level of concentration.
Type and distribute summary and letters for Consultant Radiologists Communicate with patients in a professional and helpful manner, showing due empathy particularly when dealing with anxious/distressed patients.
