Job summary Working within a team you will be delivering a complete medical secretarial service (including outpatient and reception duties where appropriate) to specialty teams who provide elective and emergency care for women under the gynaecology service.
Sub-specialties include urogynaecology and reproductive medicine, and the early pregnancy assessment clinic (EPAC) providing a service for pregnant women who are less than 12 weeks gestation with abnormal bleeding and/or pain.
We are a service that prides itself in providing exemplary care for Women's Health, striving to improve the quality of health for women across Somerset Main duties of the job Dealing with day to day correspondence, initiating appropriate responses in order to provide patients, staff and other parties with required information in a friendly and professional manner.
This will include ensuring that all investigation results are received, prioritising where necessary and bringing urgent matters to the clinicians attention.Receiving telephone calls, accepting messages on behalf of members of the specialty team and taking appropriate action where necessary.Liaising with appropriate personnel in the multidisciplinary teams to gather and co-ordinate patient information so this is accessible in a timely manner.Receiving correspondence related to patients and when relevant filing and uploading information to relevant systems.Assisting with the mentorship, training and induction of any newly appointed staff such as admin assistants and apprentices.
