Job summary An exciting opportunity is available within Cellular Pathology for a permanent part time Medical Secretary based at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated administrator who can show empathy and patience whilst working in our busy and friendly team.
Main duties of the job Here in Cellular Pathology we provide diagnostic reports following analysis of human tissue to support clinicians treating patients.
We also provide a reporting service for post mortems carried out at the mortuary in the Grange University Hospital.
The role includes being in close contact with the administration team, the Consultant group and laboratory staff.The secretariat works closely with the Cancer Services section to create a varied and exciting role which includes; providing secretarial and administrative support to the departmental Consultants; preparing weekly MDT meetings, working in the referrals' section and communicating with users, including clinicians, patients and relatives of the deceased.Part time applications are welcomed based on hours per week which is flexible apart from must work a Friday.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
