Title: Medical Science Liaison – Gastroenterology
Location: Field based - North (Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Hull, Nottingham, Newcastle & Scotland)
Role overview: The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) program is a field-based role specifically designed to support the in-depth, technical information needs of the wider Medical Affairs teams. MSLs recognize and communicate feedback and insights of strategic importance by facilitating scientific exchange between industry and the scientific community.
Responsibilities: Maintain and effectively communicate deep scientific knowledge.Engage in continuous learning to maintain the highest level of technical expertise within the therapeutic area.Excel at customer engagement and support medical/scientific information needs of scientific experts.Act as a primary interface between Lilly medical and scientific experts.Provide support for research studies, congresses, facilitating IIT and TA training.Effectively communicate complex data and feedback meaningful clinical insights.Demonstrate strategic analysis, territory mapping, planning, and prioritization.Requirements: Advanced degree in Health Sciences (PharmD, MD or PhD) with at least 2 years of relevant clinical or therapeutic experience.Field-based position requires the ability to travel up to 80% and work up to 4 to 6 weekends a year.Therapeutic area experience within Gastroenterology.Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including high emotional intelligence.Ability to leverage an omnichannel approach in engagement with external experts.Learning agility and intellectual curiosity within the field of Science/Medicine.Ability to work independently and remotely, managing multiple priorities.Highest ethical standards and knowledge of relevant clinical regulations.Additional Skills/Preferences: Previous experience as an MSL preferred.Familiarity with health systems, academic communities, and medical research.Masters or Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences with at least 5 years of industry experience.ABPI code examination to be completed within 1 year.Embracing diversity: Embracing diversity is at the core of our long-held value of respect for people.
