Medical Receptionist / Care Co-Ordinator

Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to join our small but busy team based in Widnes.
We are a 2 partner GP practice with 5100 patient list size.
Main duties of the job The successful candidate will haveprevious experience working as a receptionist and customer care, EMIS Web andDocman 10 knowledge is desirable.
As well as booking appointments forpatients you will be processing patient prescriptions, scanning patientdocuments, answering patient queries via email and other general office duties.You must have good customer serviceskills, good computer skills, a polite telephone manner and understand theimportance of confidentiality.
You musthave the ability to work well as part of a small team and must be flexible tofulfil the shift requirements.
About us We offer free on site parking, uniform and NHS pension Scheme and 25 days holiday pro rata (plus bank holidays).Full training will be provided for this role.
Job description Job responsibilities Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare provider in a courteous, efficientand effective way.
Provide general assistance to the Practice Team and projecta positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in personor via the telephone.
To provide efficient, helpful, informative and supportivereception and administration services to patients and members of the primary healthcare team.See Attached JD for further details Person Specification Knowledge and Skills Essential Flexibility of working hours/ able to work at the desired times An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality Ability to use own judgment, resourcefulness and common sense Ability to work without direct supervision and determine own workload priorities Ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team Pleasant and articulate Able to work under pressure Able to work in a changing environment Able to use own initiative Qualifications Essential Qualifications English and Maths at GCSE Level C or equivalent A demonstrable commitment to professional development Desirable Intermediate level Microsoft Office Experience Essential Experience of working in a public reception environment Experience of Microsoft Office software Experience of dealing with the public/patients Desirable Experience of telephone switchboard operation Experience of EMIS Web clinical system Experience of Docman10 filing system
