Job summary We are looking to recruit a Medical Receptionist/Administrator.The ideal candidate must haveexperience in a similar role.General Practice or NHSadministrative experience is essential.Candidates must be flexible in theirapproach to work and be willing to work additional hours, as and when requiredby the Practice.
Applicants must have good IT skills andbe able to work well under pressure.

Main duties of the job Be the first point of contact for all patients and visitors to the Practice, creating a friendly, welcoming and relaxed atmosphereLiaise with all patients, visitors, consultants and users of the surgeryBook and manage all appointmentsGeneral administrative duties such as emailing, filing, posting of letters, notes preparation, prescriptions and daily workloadProcessing incoming/outgoing postEnsure reception and waiting areas are kept tidy and clean at all timesScanning and filing of documents About us Headland Medical Centre is a small friendly practice.
The surgery is a modern, purpose-built two-story building in the Headland area of Hartlepool.
We look after over 5500 patients.The successful applicant will join our friendly and experienced administration and reception team.
Job description Job responsibilities The Receptionist/Administrator will provide an efficient service for patients and members of the practice.
The post holder will ensure that all patients and visitors are welcomed to the practice in a friendly, compassionate and professional manner whilst adhering to the practice data and confidentiality policy.
The Receptionist/Administrator will provide a comprehensive clerical support service to the administration and clinical teams in delivering high quality patient care and making a positive difference to the patient experience.
Person Specification Experience Essential Excellent patient care, customer service and communication skills.
Previous experience of Reception/Administration in General Practice or within the NHS.
Good standard of literacy and numeracy Ability to work under pressure and prioritise own workload Experience of working with the general public Desirable Experience of working with SystmOne Experience of working in a GP Practice Qualifications Essential GCSE English and Maths Desirable General Practice / NHS Business Administration
