The Project As a highly experienced Mechanical Site Manager, you will play a key role in the fit-out phase of a new build industrial development in Scarborough.
Your responsibilities will include coordinating the installation of HVAC systems, plumbing, and other mechanical infrastructure, tailored to the specific needs of the project.
Requirements For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum; SMSTS First Aid Valid CSCS Card It is also essential that you hold the experience below; Proven industry expertise with a track record of successfully managing mechanical packages in excess of £1m on new build / refurbishment projects Extensive background within the industry with at least 3 years of experience working in a Mechanical Site Manager position or similar for a leading contractor or subcontractor Experience working on projects within the industrial sector is advantageous however all candidates with a portfolio of managing mechanical packages on medium-large scale developments are of interest Additional skills; Quality control Strong mechanical knowledge Impressive leadership and mentoring abilities Capacity to prioritise health and safety effectively Good knowledge of construction laws and regulations A solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations pertaining to finishing tasks In depth understanding of mechanical systems such as HVAC, piping, and plumbing Strong written and verbal communication skills with a thorough meticulous eye for detail The Role Job Title: Mechanical Site Manager Job Type: Freelance Project: The fit-out of a new industrial development Location: Scarborough Duration: 6 months Reporting to: Project Manager Duties Toolbox talks Oversee subcontractors Reporting regularly to Project Manager Conduct regular safety audits and site inspections Address on-site technical problems and implement effective solutions Ensure work progresses in alignment with the project plan and timeline Authorise invoices for mechanical work and oversee contractor payments Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment to ensure on-time delivery Track project expenses and manage resources effectively to remain within budget Resolve any issues with materials, labor, or equipment that could delay the project Ensure all site works are performed in compliance with health and safety regulations Coordinate mechanical works with other trades (electrical, civil, etc.)
to avoid conflicts Monitor the quality of work, ensuring it meets project specifications and standards efficiently Coordinate with design teams to handle any discrepancies between design and site conditions Apply quality control measures to guarantee that mechanical installations meet design standards Develop cost estimates and anticipate any additional expenses that might occur during the project Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure project goals are aligned Maintain consistent communication with clients, provide them with updates on the status of the project Examine mechanical work at different project stages to confirm adherence to building codes and regulations Participate in project meetings to update on the status of mechanical work, timelines, and any potential risks Communicate and update stakeholders on project changes, delays or issues concerning mechanical installations Keep comprehensive records of all mechanical activities, including the work completed, inspections conducted, and issues faced Manage the testing and commissioning processes for mechanical systems to confirm they operate properly and meet performance standards Make certain that workers receive training and adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) This is a freelance position with a competitive rate on offer for the successful candidate.
