You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £34,368 - £40,729per annum You will also receive a guaranteed standby allowance (working a 1 in 8 rotation), plus additional payments for call out and overtime opportunities.You will also be entitled to a company van and a range of excellent company benefits.You will be required to work a 37 hour week and benefit from 1 in 4 Fridays off.About the role:As the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Craftsperson) you will take ownership of fault finding, repairing and maintaining assets across a range of Operational sites for both Drinking Water Services and Waste Water Services.
Carrying out planned work as derived from maintenance scheduled activities on operational assets.
You will provide services to a high standard in a sustainable manner that meets the required internal and external customer service levels, whilst minimising risk to compliance and meeting quality requirements.In this role, you will utilise your experience in executing permanent asset preservation techniques by supporting in both a reactive and proactive capacity, with the ability to identify assets that require repair works, prevention of future faults and breaks, in addition to providing recommendations to stakeholders across the business on required planned maintenance to implement permanent solutions.
What you will be doing:Carry out reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment to the highest standard of workmanshipProviding recommended/detailed specifications of parts for ordering of stock replacements and parts needed to undertake repairsManufacturing and fabrication of parts and equipmentUndertaking any training required in order to carry out work activities in a safe or legal mannerCarrying out work activities as scheduled Assisting Operational staff with the resolution of complex problemsKeeping our internal customers updated with activities which may impact on their processesUsing or if necessary requesting method statements and safe systems of work for the activities you carry outActing as the duty Mechanical Craftperson on a standby/call-out rota basisWhat we are looking for:A completed apprenticeship in a relevant technical disciplineA full understanding of related RAMS to deliver an effective and safe maintenance regimeExperience of working with Waste Water treatment processes would be desirableAbility to fault find and repair large complex pieces of mechanical equipmentA full UK driving license is requiredWhat's in it for you:At South West Water, we don't all do the same job, but we each get out of bed in the morning knowing that every day is a chance to make incredible things happen, together.
