Our client, the UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to join the certification team.
The role involves authorizing products in accordance with the product certification procedure at the Bolton site.
What we're looking for: 'Approved Apprenticeship/Apprenticeship Framework/Modern Apprenticeship Vocational G or H Units with Further Education, City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3' or 'Vocational TR23 Units with Further Education, ONC or City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3' or 'Vocational NVQ3 with Further Education, BTEC ONC/HNC' Must demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and commitment to work as part of a team to deliver the business.
It is essential to have experience inspecting the work of others for sign off.
Several years of experience as a skilled person.
IPC 610 certified / trained preferred What you'll get to do as a Mechanical Inspector: The potential candidate will be responsible for certifying the product by following the product certification procedure and monitoring the operators responsible for product certification.
They will inspect for proper assembly and check all parts for defects in finishing, painting, or surface deterioration.
Additionally, the candidate will conduct thorough inspections for any physical damages and perform intermediate inspection checks unrelated to product certification.
They will complete manufacturing data pack paperwork and maintain data records and defect reports.
The candidate will control defect items by segregating them from good products and producing relevant inspection and quality control documentation, history sheets, and audits.
They will care for and use specialized inspection tools, ensuring compliance with all applicable manufacturing procedures and meeting inspection times.
The candidate will possess a versatile skill set, applying it to various tasks while maintaining the highest workmanship standards and product quality, as well as adhering to good housekeeping policies.
Lastly, they will be willing to contribute to an environment of process improvement.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply.
As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by our clients Security Team.
Get up to £1,600 a month for accommodation if you do not live within 30 miles from Stevenage.
Full apprenticeship required - this role is eligible to UK nationals and citizens only.
