We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established team at a key manufacturing site.

Requirements Main Responsibilities As a Mechanical Engineer, you will execute a maintenance methodology to ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency while contributing to the implementation of world-class maintenance practices.
You'll work closely with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues, drive improvements, and ensure operational excellence across systems and project engineering work.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Leading and managing rolling improvement plans for assets over 1- and 3–5-year periods.
Developing and implementing Written Schemes of Examination, assessing equipment condition and ensuring compliance with legal and business requirements.
Recommending and overseeing repairs to restore equipment to operational condition, reporting on findings, and assigning inspection intervals.
Leading Risk-Based Assessment programmes for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance and operational integrity.
Providing technical input for projects, modifications, and upgrades to mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to management of change practices.
Conducting routine maintenance and collaborating with teams to enhance system performance.
Delivering CAPEX projects with an understanding of CDM regulations.
Promoting the maintenance management system and applying best practices for maintenance procedures and methodologies.
Supporting the development of engineers, fitters, and apprentices through training on mechanical systems and functionalities.
Maintaining compliance with Health and Safety regulations and championing Safe Systems of Work towards a zero-harm target.
Reviewing plant performance, identifying root causes of issues, and implementing cost-effective improvement strategies.
Monitoring and coordinating condition predictors for critical equipment using NDT or Condition Monitoring systems.
Evaluating and improving preventive maintenance job plans in coordination with the Engineering Planner.
Leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for plant failures and implementing corrective actions.
The Ideal Candidate To succeed in this role, you should possess experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, mechanical gears and bearings, compressed air systems, and associated plant equipment.
Additional experience in manufacturing (QA and production), maintenance, repair, and site inspections will be advantageous.
Qualifications and Experience: BEng or MEng in a related discipline or Qualified by Experience (QBE).
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical equipment with heavy industrial plant experience.
Expertise in preventive, predictive, and systematic maintenance, including familiarity with CMMS and project software.
