Your key role will be working with engineers and scientists to establish what is needed and then design mechanical assemblies and enclosures to meet that need.
Key responsibilities are: Designing, building and testing mechanical hardware to meet technical requirements Completing drawing packs suitable for manufacture of designed items Building and test fitting assemblies to validate the design pack Managing and maintaining effective communications with stakeholders within the immediate group Providing technical solutions to meet stakeholder requirements Contributing to small instrumentation projects by providing technical and financial input and contributing to design reviews Assisting in the supervision and training of apprentices to enable them to carry out their responsibilities We would be interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate knowledge or experience in some of the following: Qualifications to minimum HND (preferably Degree or Chartered) or equivalent level of knowledge in software, engineering or physics discipline Ability to produce/update technical documentation Familiarity with 3D CAD packages and configuration management systems (eg Siemens NX and Teamcenter) Self-motivated and able to manage own workload Analytical skills and attention to detail Good communications skills at all levels and able to work as part of a team Knowledge of Radiological Instrumentation or the ability and desire to achieve this through on the job training Candidates must be willing to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
