Mechanical Design Engineer Lead

Role Overview The Mechanical Engineering Lead oversees a team of engineers responsible for designing mechanical systems within generator projects, ensuring alignment with both project specifications and industry standards.
This role is integral to refining engineering processes and best practices, supporting high standards, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Additionally, the Mechanical Engineering Lead provides support to the business development team and fosters continual improvement.
Key Objectives Full oversight of the Mechanical Engineering Team, including HR-related aspects and technical training, ensuring effective team governance.
Leadership and management of the team in executing project and proposal designs, with a primary focus on mechanical system packages.
Key Responsibilities Manage and guide the Mechanical Engineering Team, ensuring accountability and development.
Provide regular reporting to the Engineering Manager, following weekly and monthly performance metrics.
Ensure that the Mechanical Engineering Team adheres to the quality plan and consistently meets customer requirements and project timelines.
Drive innovation and standardization initiatives to support organizational growth.
Offer technical support to the Engineering Department for the specification and design of UPS and generator systems, with a specific focus on mechanical packages.
Oversee the specification and design of mechanical systems for UPS and generator projects, from project handover through completion.
Develop essential documentation, including design documents, method statements, risk assessments, procedures, and testing protocols.
Prepare technical proposals, project submissions, scopes of work, procedures, and feasibility studies.
Attend Factory Witness Testing for generators and control systems in the UK and/or Europe, representing both the organization and the client.
Carry out additional departmental tasks as requested.
