Mechanical Design Engineer

Permanent role with a Base Salary of up to: £50k depending upon experience.
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with a focus on defence and large-scale mechanical systems.
This role is ideal for a candidate ready to work in a reputable company known for delivering world-class engineering solutions for military and defence systems.
Based at a leading engineering centre, the position will play a key role in ensuring projects meet cost, time, and technical requirements.
This role is best suited for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a degree in a relevant engineering field and a solid background in the design, testing, and development of medium to heavy mechanical systems.
Ideal candidates will have expertise in large welded and bolted structures and experience managing design projects from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement design solutions, working closely with the design team.
Review and check engineering drawings to ensure technical accuracy.
Prepare and manage technical documentation, including reports, manuals, and procedures.
Lead hardware development and testing processes.
Collaborate with suppliers and attend customer review meetings, representing the company effectively.
In return you will receive a base of up to £50k depending upon experience & benefits including pension contributions 4% employee, 7% employer, life assurance, comprehensive sick pay scheme.
Flexible working including 4.5 days a week with early finish on a Fridays.
3 days on site with Fridays and one other day working from home depending upon business needs.
