International School Mathematics Teacher - (relocation to Cairo required) The Role Accountability The Mathematics Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and fostering a positive learning environment for students.
On a day-to-day basis, they will report to the Head of Department.
As the school evolves, collaboration with other members of the senior leadership team will be essential.
This role is supported by various business units responsible for marketing, business development, human resources, IT, finance, safety, operational services, and estates.
The school reserves the right to adapt the needs of the role as circumstances demand or opportunities arise.
Key Areas of Responsibility The Mathematics Teacher aims to create a culture of excellence in mathematics education within the school community, actively enhancing the overall student experience.
Strategic Leadership - Ensure that lessons stimulate and engage pupils, enhancing their overall development and enthusiasm for learning.
Responsibilities - Optimise the use of regular performance reporting systems to provide objective, standardised feedback on student engagement and performance.
- Implement strategies to support students' participation and success in mathematics, promptly addressing any challenges.
- Cultivate a classroom culture that encourages students to be challenged and stretched in their mathematical understanding, enabling their success.
- Analyse student performance data to identify potential and areas for development.
Qualifications - A good honours degree in Mathematics or a related field from a reputable university.
- Significant teaching experience, ideally within an educational setting, with a teaching qualification and QTS.
- Further postgraduate study would be desirable.
Experience - Relevant teaching qualification and experience in mathematics education.
- Experience in line management or leadership roles is an advantage.
- Ability to handle, analyse, and communicate data effectively.
- Strong IT literacy.
