Main duties of the job Under the direction of Midwifery/Medical staff participate in the patient assessment process by completing appropriate clinical tasks in a designated clinical area.Undertake venepuncture training and maintain clinical competency.Undertake vaccination training and maintain competency under the supervision of the midwife.Assist the Registered Midwife in the evaluation of care and completion of patient documents in line with Trust policy.Participate fully in the delivery of planned midwifery care.Provide information to enable the effective care planning and service users records are maintained.Involve patients and carers/relatives in the delivery of care and provide reassurance support to patients and carers/family.Work collaboratively with others in the Ward to ensure that patient's needs are met and contribute to effective lines of communication between medical, nursing and administrative staff.
