Job summary We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with great attention to detail to manage the midwifery staffing function within the service and act as a central point of contact forour staff and provide them with local support.You will work alongside the midwifery matrons and staff within the team to provide support with rota planning, agency usage, annual, study and sick leave for the workforce, and will report to the Head of Midwifery.You will need excellent communication skills and a strong focus on engagement with staff at all levels and should have the ability to work with and improve existing information systems and databases.
With rapidly changing priorities this will require the ability to use your initiative, to manage your own workload and work under pressure.
Main duties of the job To help manage all of the clinical staffing arrangements across the Maternity Department, ensuring any gaps in staffing are filled in an appropriate and timely manner, actioning and resolving issues and problems as they may arise, supporting the Ward Manager and Matrons in ensuring the workforce is fit for purpose.To actively participate as a full member of the team, assisting with the smooth running of the Maternity Department by managing administrative functions in a timely, effective and efficient way in conjunction with the Ward Managers and Senior Leadership Team.Assist in reporting equipment problems (including IT issues) as instructed by Registered Midwives to: Estates, Electrical and BioMedical Engineering, Patientline and IT Helpdesk; following through to ensure the problem is resolved on the ward and escalate to the Midwife in charge.
