Job summary Maternity Care Assistant The post holder will provide support to the Antenatal Services team, mothers and their families working in collaboration with the Midwives and wider multidisciplinary team to provide the highest standard of care.
The successful applicant will carry out assigned tasks including direct clinical care, to mothers and their babies.
The role is varied and includes providing support within the Antenatal Clinic, Maternity Assessment Unit and in the operating theatre during planned caesarean sections, Main duties of the job Main tasks will include undertaking vital sign observations, venepuncture, data entry onto electronic patient records (EPR), chaperoning doctors and keeping the clinical areas clean and well stocked at all times.
Shift patterns vary between long and short day shifts as well as night shifts 7 days a week.

Person Specification Essential Essential oGood standard of general education in English language Maths GCSE A-C, Level 4-9, Functional skills Level 2 or equivalent Desirable Care certificate Band 3 competency Essential / Desirable Essential Currently Band 2 or 3 care assistant with RBFT Desirable Competent in venepuncture.
