Are you an expert when it comes to raw materials / fibres for textile manufacturing?
Do you enjoy travelling and sourcing?
Can you spot flaws in manufactured fabrics / textiles?
This is an interesting role for someone who enjoys the technicalities of textiles.
You'll be the expert who heads up the technical team from product development to delivery of finished goods.
It's a role which involves a LOT of regular worldwide travel, so it's not for the faint-hearted – you'll truly be invested in the business and the products made.
What You Get A salary in the region of £60k 33 days holiday Company pension Excellent internal support network About You You should have worked in a similar role as a Raw Materials or Textiles Expert.
Ideally, you'll have a degree in Textile Technology (or equivalent).
It's essential that you have a sound understanding of how different fibres are manufactured into textile products / fabrics / materials.
You will need to have had hands-on experience of working with textile production mills worldwide.
You'll be resilient, flexible and dedicated to sourcing the best materials based on the customer specification.
You should also have working knowledge of testing and laboratory experience.
You can manage a small team.
About The Job You'll join as a Raw Materials Expert and will grow your own team once settled in.
It will be your job to source the correct raw materials / fibres for production based on your customer specification.
You'll manage the relationships with the chosen supplier mills (wherever they are in the world), visiting where possible to ensure robust manufacturing process are adhered to and that the fabrics are developed accordingly, factoring in sustainability.
You will be responsible for hiring a Fabric Technologist who you will mentor and develop; supporting them through their journey.
You will manage projects effectively and effectively be the glue that holds together the product development process from start to finish.
