Job Description: Message Therapist Position Overview A Message Therapist, also commonly known as a Massage Therapist, is responsible for providing professional therapeutic massage services to clients in order to relieve stress, alleviate pain, and improve overall physical wellness.
Using a variety of massage techniques, the Message Therapist tailors each session to meet individual client needs, helping to promote relaxation, stimulate healing, and enhance physical function.
Key Responsibilities -Conduct Client Assessments - Interview clients to understand their medical history, current physical condition, and specific needs or areas of concern.
- Create personalized treatment plans that align with client health goals and physical requirements.
- Perform Therapeutic Massage Techniques - Administer a range of massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, sports, and other therapeutic modalities, based on client preferences and needs.
- Adjust pressure and technique as required to provide a comfortable and beneficial experience for each client.
- Promote Client Wellness and Education - Educate clients on the benefits of massage therapy and provide advice on post-session care, stretching exercises, and general wellness practices.
- Discuss ongoing treatment recommendations and suggest other wellness resources as needed.
- Maintain a Clean and Safe Environment - Sanitize massage tables, tools, and equipment between sessions in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a calming, organized, and professional workspace to enhance client relaxation and comfort.
- Administrative Duties - Manage client scheduling, documentation, and session notes for accurate records and continuity of care.
- Process payments, handle client inquiries, and address feedback in a professional manner.
- Stay Updated on Industry Knowledge - Engage in continuous professional development, keeping up-to-date with new massage techniques, health regulations, and therapeutic trends.
Qualifications - Education - Completion of a state-approved massage therapy program with at least [XX] hours of supervised practice.
- Current state licensure and/or certification as a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), depending on region.
