The Mowlem is recruiting a Marketing Assistant to help us continue with our ambitious goal of building The Mowlem as a thriving cultural hub for Swanage, contributing to its residents' well-being and Purbeck's economic regeneration.
The applicant will have an understanding of basic business and marketing concepts, excellent time management skills, strong interpersonal skills and social abilities. The successful candidate would be resourceful, knowledgeable and a strong team player happy to work on their own and within a team .
Hours: 15 hours per week ( days and times to be agreed upon ) Hourly Rate : £12.50 per hour Reporting to: Events Manager Probation Period: Three months Term of Contract: January – November 2025 Location: Remote/Hybrid working positively considered. Job Specification Creating and scheduling engaging, easy-to-read social media content for Facebook and Instagram promoting our complete program of live shows, movies and community events. Writing a monthly 'What's On' update for the local press, charities, community groups and newsletters. Adapting the 'What's On' Update to create visually appealing newsletter updates to subscribers at least monthly. Using our Premium subscription to Canva, create digital artwork and printable assets for use in and around the building, the website, newsletters and social media (as required). Updating the monthly 'What's On' flyer within the print deadlines. Working with external partners, production companies and local businesses to ensure the agreed-upon marketing and promotional activities are delivered on time. Maintain the internal marketing assets folders for use across the organisation. Working alongside our Administrator, ensure informative and engaging descriptions of upcoming movies and live shows are added to Ticket Source (our ticket platform), including sourcing official digital assets (pictures and videos) to accompany your carefully crafted text. Person Specification: Extensive experience of running social media accounts for a business, charity or brand and can demonstrate growth over time. You know how different social platforms work, and what content works best for each platform. You are organised and can complete tasks based on press deadlines. You are a competent wordsmith and enjoy creating engaging and fun content. You are interested in theatre, cinema, the arts or other community events. You're familiar with graphic design tools, including Canva and Photoshop, and enjoy designing leaflets, posters and other promotional materials. You are familiar with email marketing tools such as Email Octopus to create and schedule monthly and one-off email campaigns and newsletters. You can work remotely and independently and can be relied upon. Experience with WordPress or other online website builders would be advantageous. You'll have your own laptop or PC up to the task.
