Handley James Chemical are excited to be partnered with a passionate and progressive chemical distribution business, focusing on the supply of raw materials into the Composites, Thermoplastics, Surface Coatings, Construction, Adhesives plus others, both locally and internationally.
Due to exciting growth with a record-breaking year this year, and an evolving organisational structure we are now recruiting for an experienced Market Manager to focus sales and marketing activities on materials that enhance properties or productivity, ensuring you build a sustainable business in the given division.
This role will be a 50/50 split of the management and growing of current customers, as well as the strategic identification of new sales opportunities.
Description of the job role: Essential role within the Commercial & Business Development activities of the company, a leader for business growth Define and agree the business plan to achieve targeted growth in allocated markets Development of excellent external customer relationships via in person meetings Establish contacts at technical and commercial departments for key accounts Delivery of budgeted targets and KPI's as set Representation of the company at relevant trade exhibitions and specific events Proactively provide business development proposals, properly qualified and quantified.
Travel both within the UK and International will be required.
This role will suit a motivated individual with a strong blend of technical/chemical and commercial expertise, experience within a commercially bias role who is passionate about growth.
You will have excellent technical knowledge within the chemical sector (Elastomers would be advantageous but not essential).
The successful candidate will fully understand and implement the sales cycle involved with technical sales, concentrating on areas of highest return.
You will be able to provide reforecast and financial data as part of the budgeting process.
Candidate Requirements Exceptional technical knowledge in the chemical market, ideally Elastomers Excellent business acumen Ability to utilise data and take relevant action Focused on creating new business opportunities by networking and prospecting, whilst ensuring retention of business levels via repeat business Experience using CRM platforms and relevant Microsoft packages i.e.
Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.
Ability to be a self-starter and work upon your own initiative This role offers amazing opportunity to be a driving force behind the division and also grow into other areas of the business.
In return our client is offering a competitive base salary c£60,000 - £70,000 negotiable doe, £7,000 Car Allowance or EV option potentially, bonus and benefits.
