The role As Market Development Manager at Firefinch Software you will be a key member of the commercial team, driving business development for the company by working with both new and existing clients, expanding our reach within existing markets and entering new regions. This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of a friendly and supportive team in a successful organisation. Day to day, you would: Discover new leads and opportunities through outreach, networking, and representing the company at frequent events in the UK and Europe. Create relationships across various target industries by holding positive and informed scientific conversations at any level of the organisation.
Perform market & competitor analyses and develop market expansion strategies to generate new business via customer acquisition, retention and growth.
Work with Marketing to effectively segment the market, refine positioning & messaging, and perform targeted outreach online and in person.
Manage the tendering process for the organisation, and work closely with the Project Management team on tailoring proposals and securing contracts.
Establish, execute and measure ROI and KPIs in line with strategic goals.
Travel to customer sites as required.
The successful candidate will have: A degree in life sciences, biotechnology or a related field.
Have experience of bringing products to market.
Excellent interpersonal skills including writing and giving presentations, communication over email, and writing for marketing communications.
Ability and desire for frequent travel within the UK and internationally.
Comfortable working remotely with a distributed team communicating mostly through on-line tools (Slack, MS Teams).
The right to work in the UK.
Preferred but not essential: Experience in marketing, sales, or support, of services in the life sciences market.
Academic or industry lab experience.
Experience with CRM Systems.
Driving licence.
