RINA is currently recruiting for a Marine North-West Europe Principal Surveyor to join its office in Southampton within the Marine North Europe Region Division.
MissionThe successful candidate is required to support in the technical and operational field the major client operating passenger ships in the North-West Europe, reporting to the Director of Marine Operations North-West Europe.
Key AccountabilitiesAssist passenger ships managers in the daily operationsBe point of contact with the Flag Administrations and RINA colleagues involved in surveys with passenger ships of client managed by North-West EuropeIdentify client's needs in terms of service optimization and new services to be providedCoordinate special projects and activity with passenger ships companiesResolve complex situations with proactiveness and fast thinking approachSupport the client to ensure safe and continuous operations of the vesselsPerform surveys/audits on board of passenger shipsQualificationsExperience working as a marine surveyor, preferably with an IACS member or an equivalent combinationFluency in both English language (verbal and written)Significant technical competence in passenger existing ship, new building and associated statutory requirementsKnowledge of ISM, ISPS MLC certification and passenger ship surveys preferredThe ability to travel throughout the regionA degree or equivalent within a relevant field of business studyThorough understanding of the local marine environmentAbility to participate in and add value to technical discussions with clients and RINA colleaguesOrganizational and planning skills, ability to prioritize to meet deadlinesIntermediate or advanced experience using MS Office suite of products: Word, Excel, Outlook
