Position Overview As the Manufacturing Manager, you will oversee manufacturing operations, ensuring production goals are achieved efficiently while upholding the highest standards in safety and quality.
This role plays a vital part in implementing lean manufacturing practices, optimizing workflows, and driving continuous improvement.
You will lead a team of skilled professionals dedicated to innovation and operational success.
Reporting Lines Reports to: Operations Manager Direct Reports: 3 Team Leaders, managing approximately 50 operations colleagues Key Responsibilities Oversee daily manufacturing activities to meet production targets, optimizing efficiency and quality.
Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations, conduct risk assessments, and cultivate a safe work environment.
Implement quality control measures to meet customer expectations, driving continuous improvements in quality processes.
Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment, with an emphasis on coaching, succession planning, and talent retention.
Drive lean methodologies, such as 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma, to enhance workflows and reduce waste.
Manage production costs within budget, including labor, materials, and overhead expenses, to meet productivity targets.
Utilize SAP and data analysis tools to monitor production, identify trends, and support informed decision-making.
Coordinate with safety, quality assurance, engineering, and logistics teams to align and streamline manufacturing activities.
Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
Level 5 management or equivalent leadership experience in manufacturing (desirable).
Proven experience in a managerial role within manufacturing.
Strong understanding and practical application of lean principles (green belt desirable).
Experience in quality systems and continuous improvement processes.
SAP experience or familiarity with MRP systems, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in manufacturing (IOSH certification preferred).
Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with teams and stakeholders at all levels.
