Manufacturing Manager £50,000 Essex Leading the production team, the Manufacturing Manager oversees all facets of manufacturing, collaborating with a group of Cell Leaders to guarantee that things are produced effectively, completely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with standards.
Team * Plan and assign manufacturing resources efficiently in a complex manufacturing environment to fulfil projected and actual production needs.
* Assure that product quality consistently satisfies consumer needs.
* Create a group of Cell Leaders by utilising efficient management practices, including career development talks, functional training, performance management, team and personal development, and engagement strategies, to advance a high performance culture.
* Take the lead in training and development activities as needed.
Manufacturing Output * Oversee the group of Cell Leaders to enable them to administer their region profitably and effectively, meeting deadlines while maintaining quality and cost.
* Able to collaborate efficiently when issue escalation is required with the Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality teams.
* Encourage the team to solve problems using evidence-based methods in order to guarantee prompt, thorough, and efficient issue resolution.
* Create, manage, and keep track of the team's relevant KPIs, and encourage yearly progress towards objectives.
* Keep track of and manage pertinent KPIs * Control production limitations to guarantee timely, affordable, and high-quality delivery.
* Control resource and cell arrangement to satisfy business and production requirements.
House Keeping & Quality * Ensure compliance to the businesses and quality management system ISO9001 * Ensure audit actions are closed in a timely manner Continuous Improvement * Encourage a culture of continuous improvement among the production teams and employ best-practice manufacturing concepts to boost efficiency.
* Launch and oversee ongoing programs for productivity, cost-cutting, and output enhancement.
* Promote and assist in the enhancement of workplace organization (5S/LEAN) and productivity.
* Create functioning papers and processes that follow best practices.
New Product Introduction (NPI) * Support the NPI process and working through the Cell Leaders manage any impact on production.
Finance * Work with Finance to produce a budget for their areas of responsibility.
* Management of budget for their area of responsibility.
* Working with Engineering, preparation and management for the CAPEX budget in their area of responsibility.
Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety (OHSE) Also, the role holder is accountable to OHSE and needs to: * Support our company's policies, practices, and standards for health and safety; * Take action (e.g., danger spots) and report near misses in order to intervene, rectify (where possible), and report any unsafe or non-compliant situations; * Show that you have a responsibility to the people you interact with and work with, and when necessary, proactively report possible health and safety issues; * Encourage and support the e2v Safety, Health, and Environment Leadership Team (SHELT) initiative to fortify our Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHSE) culture in order to enhance our OHSE initiatives, which offer a safe and productive work environment, in a proactive manner.
