Howdens is recruiting a Group Leader to join our work surfaces manufacturing site in Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, East Yorkshire.
This is an exciting opportunity that will contribute to our continued success and will enable us to deliver our forecasted growth and extend our service to our customers.
Reporting to our Operations Manager, you will ensure that production targets are met with adherence to quality, cost, delivery, people and health and safety metrics.
You will be responsible for identifying and rectifying shortfalls in performance, sharing learnings, and working collaboratively with cross-shift teams to ensure continual improvements are made across our operations.
This is a hands-on role where your time will be split evenly between office and production.
What you'll be doing as a Manufacturing Group Leader: • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of your team members and providing feedback and effective training where required • Checking service issues and planning daily production to ensure warehouse demand is satisfied • Maintaining safety within your area of responsibility, complying with safety controls through effective auditing, reviewing SOPs and RAs and conducting accident / near miss investigations when necessary • Analysing KPI and OEE data to identify productivity issues and helping to form solutions and maximise opportunities for improvement • Liaising with the maintenance departments to reduce unplanned machine downtime • Facilitating continuous improvement workshops.
