We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for a 12 Month contract based in Derby on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.
Purpose of the Role: Working as part of a fast paced and challenging MBU, in this role you will be deployed to the coating industrialisation team accountable for the delivery of Manufacturing Engineering activities on New Product Introduction or Part Transfers.
This role will cover all aspects of capability acquisition and product introduction including APQP, PPAP, Method development, FAIR validation and ultimately Yield Improvement to deliver world-class PI on time to the required product cost As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for: Technical: Understanding of industrial coating processes ideally in an aerospace environment with knowledge of one or more of the following: aluminising, aluminising stop-off, platinum plating, plasma spray, robotic processes and/or EB-PVD Technical: Develop, implement, validate, maintain, and continuously improve the manufacturing processes and / or methods of your aligned product to ensure capability to meet and continue to meet requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time.
Ensure yield targets are delivered.
Product Definition: Capture, analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve the current and future capability of manufacturing processes and identification of improvement opportunities.
Collaboration: Proactively accesses internal and external networks of technical communities and functional teams, quality, design, and project engineering, to ensure fulfilment and realisation of the product intent Problem Solving: Support the investigation and resolution of product and supplier technical problems with the application and use of appropriate tools.
Delivery & Lean Focused: Develop robust, safe, and Lean method of manufacture into the production environment.
Support production technical issues to ensure on time delivery of the PI trials, EDP set and PPAP Delivery.
What we require from the candidate: Professionally qualified Engineer (UK minimum BEng degree or other national equivalent, higher degree preferred) Communication and stakeholder management skills with a strong positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Technical experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably coating of Turbine products.
Experience in APQP, PPAP and Method Change control in a manufacturing environment.
