Manufacturing EngineerClevedon, North SomersetFlexible WorkingUp to £45000 per annum DOE + Bonus+ Life Assurance + Enhanced pensionManufacturing Engineer sought within Somerset division of global specialist equipment manufacturer offering comprehensive benefits package and further career development opportunities.Reporting to the Manufacturing Systems Team Leader, the Manufacturing Engineer will join a team of engineers in a manual assembly production facility, with products involving a mix of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic assembly.
The Manufacturing Engineer shall be responsible for the manufacturing system within the allocated manufacturing division.
The Engineer will create, maintain and continually improve safe and lean assembly and test processes for existing and new products.The RoleDocument, implement, own and continuously improve the manufacturing cell's Lean manufacturing processes according to the guidelines.Be accountable for the definition, setup and optimisation of the processes within the allocated manufacturing cell.Implement continuous improvement activities and projects, To design or optimise, prove, implement and maintain cell layouts.Implement and maintain risk assessments for allocated manufacturing cell, including the authoring of safe systems of work.Specification and purchasing of the appropriate tooling and equipment for the allocated manufacturing cell.Ensure configuration control of operational documentation in compliance to current regulations in terms of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.Ownership and accountability to resolve or support any non-conformity, internal or external, impacting the manufacturing process.The PersonEquivalent experience in a similar role.Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering degree, qualification or equivalent.Process documentation authoring, writing of procedures and work instructionsExperience in optimising production processes as well as providing production supportExperience of problem solving and or utilising root cause analysis tools in a manufacturing environment.Able to work cross functionally, communicate and build working relationships at all levels.Ability to develop technical solutions, to requirements, within agreed timescales.Full comprehension of engineering drawings, schematics and diagrams.Implementing the principles of Lean manufacturingBasic CAD skills for layout design and design model interrogation.MRP/ERP system use – SAP.DFM/PFMEA awareness.Experience in implementing change, change management.Risk assessments and understanding of compliance requirements to health and safety, environmental and quality regulations.Project management experience, including risk, schedule and cost.BenefitsFlexibility working25 days holiday (excluding Bank HolidaysBonus up to 7.5% of annual salary,Pension with a company contribution of up to 8%Life Assurance of 4 x basic salaryCash health plan, Thriving Wellbeing Program, Wellbeing and prayer roomPrivate express room available for new mothersFree parking, Subsidised canteen
