As a department made up of around 30 people, with roles including Compounders, Room Managers, Team Leaders, Stock Controllers, Quality Control Specialists and R&D Project Managers, we take great pride in being the best smelling bunch within Lush, and our responsibility extends to maintaining the unmistakable scent that defines Lush products.
The Role: As a Manager In Training at EC's, your job will be to ensure that the department operates smoothly, upholding the company's beliefs and values while maintaining the highest standards of service and supply, H&S, and compliance.
Because teams are the foundation of our work, you will work closely with the management team to ensure that an inclusive workplace is provided where people feel comfortable, with an emphasis on staff engagement and development.
You will be challenged to attend required training and provide opportunity for the team to grow both personally and departmentally.
With a combination of internal and external communication channels used across local and global teams, we are looking for someone that has strong communication & people skills as well as good organisational & time management to support the aforementioned smooth running of the department.
Responsibilities Operations - Supervise the management of all production-related activities, such as orders, shipping, warehousing, and quality control, to guarantee productivity.
Planning - Support shift planning/strategies for both peak and off peak hours with the guarantee of sustaining service levels while keeping a close handle on staff and other costs associated with running the business.
Communication (Local & Global) - Clear and concise communication to all levels and areas of the business both internally and with external suppliers.
L&D - Make sure the company's policies and ethics are followed in departmental operations and team meetings by having a thorough awareness of them.
Attend the company's training programs and recognise individuals or teams that could benefit from specific training on offer.
H&S - Ensure that all employees work in a safe environment by paying attention to the monthly H&S audits, taking corrective action when needed, and making sure that our internal policies and SOPs are followed and updated as needed.
Compliance - See that regulatory and compliance requirements are being met, ensuring employees are working in a safe environment, materials are used and stored appropriately and that products are packed and labelled as per SOP.
People - Support staff management in areas such as performance, attitude, and behaviour, while also engaging in matters of welfare, engagement and growth, ensuring talent spotting throughout.
Development - Support the Manager with matters relating to staff reviews, appraisals, development and performance plans Service & Supply - Play your part in assuring 5* Service & Supply throughout the stages of order manufacturing and distribution, as well as communication where appropriate.
Relationships (Local) - Build strong relationships inside the team by creating content, planning, and presenting at team meetings, with a focus on team morale and engagement.
Relationships (Global) - Where needed, support with Global communications and meetings, presenting yourself in a professional manner and use it as an opportunity to relationship build and showcase what the teams do.
Systems - Gain a thorough understanding of all systems used within the department to help you coordinate production set-up and teams.
Quality Control - Understand the methods in place for quality control of both materials and final products, and ensure that the standards are upheld at the highest level at all times.
Projects - Support project work with both internal and external teams, efficiently executing changes, and being proactive in searching for continuous/further improvements and any possibilities to enhance efficiencies, lower our environmental footprint, and/or save money.
Presentation - Present yourself and the department in a professional manner, ensuring the factory is maintained to the greatest level of cleanliness and hygiene, and the room is presented with passion and enthusiasm.
Reporting - Assist with reporting on a number of topics, sharing with key stakeholders and production teams.
Finance - Spend the company's money as if it were your own, obtaining several quotations for any CAPEX requirements and contesting internal spends as needed.
Be aware of the COGs and promote the creation of action points to seek improvements.
Environment - Promote Lush's environmental ethos through education, training, and your own goal setting within the department, while also using the jigsaw scheme and thank you bonuses to inspire team initiatives and recognise triumphs.
Beyond the essentials in the room, monitor waste management, working with the Greenhub team on any ways to improve.
GMP/DRP - Read, understand, and annually maintain the GMP and DRP, including areas of responsibility for you and the team.
