About this opportunity: This role sits within the Finance Chief Control Office and presents an exciting opportunity to work within the Control Optimisation team for Operational (Non-Financial) Risk within Group Finance. We are putting in place a fresh operating model for non-financial risk management across the Group, empowering our people to take end-to-end accountability for managing the risks they face.
You'll partner with our Group Finance colleagues, providing expertise to implement our risk strategy and ensure management can effectively discharge their accountabilities. You will be expected to work effectively as part of the wider team, collaborating to solve problems and sharing knowledge.
Day to day you'll be: Partnering with key Finance stakeholders to oversight and challenge the Finance risk and control environment. Supporting the review & challenge of the Finance risk profile and control strategy implementation. Critically reviewing how the Operational (Non-Financial) risk profile is handled in Finance. Managing relationships with risk and control owner teams and acting as their risk and control business partner. Providing guidance, review and challenge to process and control owners in the application of the Risk Management framework for the Finance teams. Leveraging insights and expertise to help risk and control owners to improve the control environment. What you'll need: Professional Finance qualification – ICAS (or equivalent), ACCA or CIMA. Finance risk and control awareness of Operational (Non-Financial) risk categories across accounting processes and systems. Understanding of how Risk Management framework interlocks with Group Policy requirements in the context of Finance. Understanding of control management and the practical implementation across relevant business area. Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives at pace.
