Management Accountant

The Management Accountant is responsible for performing general accounting functions in addition to the communication and promotion of financial position, insight, governance and control within the business.
What you'll be doing as a Management Accountant Support the Finance Manager by taking a lead on the closing of Management accounts as well as providing an assurance of numbers and insightful commentary Working across the wider finance team to document, align and improve processes, to drive efficiency and consistency.
Production and preparation of audited financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and coordination of year-end audit.
Support compliance with accounting standards and Thames Water control frameworks, including communicating with internal stakeholders to ensure core system data is clean and accurate.
Respond to ad hoc requests for analytics, through the agreed demand management framework to provide support to Business Partners for costs visibility, business case preparation and investigation into financial performance.
Support the recording, reconciliation and analysis of accounting activities and period end close activities in accordance with agreed close schedules and timetables.
Base Location – Hybrid – Clear Water Court Reading Working Pattern or hours – 36 hours Monday to Friday Other immediate demands -  Accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, CPA, CMA, CHAE or equivalent) What you should bring to the role Systems experience with SAP Strong technical knowledge and understanding of IFRS (specifically capitalisation).
Ability to work well as part of a team but also take ownership to complete tasks independently.
Clear communication Ability to effectively priorities multiple projects to meet deadlines and produce high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to interact with leadership, key stakeholders, employees.
