Maintenance Technician

PE Global is recruiting a Maintenance Technician for our industrial manufacturing client based in Peterborough.
The role is an initial 12-month contract.
The rate for this role is 22.72 - £30.53.
Responsibilities of the role: Assign staff to repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
Supervise routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
Assign the inspection and testing of machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
Review the type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
Assign staff to dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
Review the diagnosis of mechanical problems and assign staff to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED required Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
Team player and detail oriented.
Expert leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
Expert knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Expert knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Expert knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
