Main duties of the job As a Maintenance Operative at Avery Healthcare's Darwin Court Care Home in Lichfield, you will be responsible for ensuring the building and grounds are well maintained.
This will involve undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks on services, and applying basic fixes to equipment and systems to ensure the facilities are fully functional.
You will also support new residents in arranging their rooms, carry out re-decoration as required, and provide an out-of-hours emergency service.

If this sounds like the place for you, wed love to hear from you!ABOUT THE ROLEYour focus as a Maintenance Operativewillbetoensurethe building and grounds are wellmaintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services applying basic fixes to equipment and systemswhilstensuringfacilities are fully functional.Other responsibilitieswillinclude: Carryingout all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs includingall electrical, plumbing joinery and building tasks both inside and outside the Home.
Supporting new residents to arrange their room as they wish.
Ensuringroutine re-decoration is undertaken asrequiredtomaintainthe standards in thehome.
Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
Providingout of hours emergency service,participatingin the on-call rota.ABOUT YOUTo be successful in your application, you will live our values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable in all that you do.Our ideal candidatemust: Have a minimum of one years experience in a general maintenance or handy person role and/or hold a professional qualification in a trade.
Hold a full driving licence.
Have knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of one year's experience in a general maintenance or handyperson role, or hold a professional trade qualification.
You must also possess a full driving license and have knowledge of health and safety, particularly in areas such as moving and handling, fire safety, and COSHH assessments.
