Maintenance Manager - Renewables - Berkshire - £40k to £50k Location: Berkshire
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Thursday 9:00am to 5:30pm (9:00am – 5:00pm Friday), with scope for flexibility between 8:00am and 6:00pm.
On-Site Requirement: Full-time, 5 days on-site, with potential flexibility.
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of advanced renewable systems.
This pivotal role involves managing a growing team, coordinating customer feedback, and directing technicians for on-site interventions.
You will bridge the gap between prototyping, production, and manufacturing to ensure efficient and reliable system performance.
While hands-on technical work is a plus, this is primarily a management-focused role, ideal for someone with a background in mechanical or electrical systems, preferably in the oil and gas or compression sectors.
Key Responsibilities: Maintenance Oversight: Manage the maintenance schedules and operations for a fleet of 15 machines, ensuring uptime and reliability.
Team Leadership: Lead a team of 4 technicians (projected to grow to by6 2026), assigning tasks and providing guidance.
Customer Collaboration: Act as a point of contact for customer feedback, prioritising maintenance tasks based on operational needs.
Coordination of Resources: Plan and allocate technicians to on-site tasks, ensuring efficient response times and effective solutions.
Prototyping and Production Cross-Over: Work closely with the prototyping and manufacturing teams to refine builds and enhance system performance.
Regulatory and Compliance Standards: Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety and industry regulations, particularly in fluid systems, regulators, and hydrogen compression technologies.
Future Planning: Contribute to the development of a potential shift system to provide 24/7 support as operations scale.
Key Skills and Experience: Technical Background: Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with experience in the oil and gas, compression, or fluid systems industries.
Leadership Experience: Proven ability to manage teams and coordinate cross-functional tasks.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to prioritise and address technical challenges efficiently.
Customer-Focused: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and internal stakeholders.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with pressure systems, regulators, and compliance requirements is highly desirable.
Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with prototypes and evolving processes.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in hydrogen compression systems or a similar fluid systems industry.
Background in compressed gas, oil and gas, or renewable energy technologies.
