Maintenance Engineer Taskmaster Resources are looking for a Maintenance Engineer for our client based in Rushden at their state of the art plastic recycling plant.
You will be providing efficient and effective maintenance and breakdown cover, looking after and maintaining machinery and ancillaries, e.g.
preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs to ensure uptime and effective production on machinery.
You will be required to work without direct supervision and be able to identify tasks that require attention.
It is essential that you can communicate effectively and understand written and verbal communications.
Pay: £18.00-£20.00 per hour Hours: Full-time: Monday-Friday.
Duties: To undertake maintenance engineering duties as required on a daily basis as directed by the Lead Engineer.
To organise and undertake a pre-planned maintenance schedule in accordance with written instructions and work procedures.
Plan and order spare parts.
To react to emergencies in the case of faults with gas, electric & water supply and report / communicate issues and actions to the Lead Engineer.
To be aware of the location of all stop cocks, gas and electric isolation points.
To attend to where necessary, personnel visiting the site such as contractors.
To monitor the work of contractors attending site, ensuring that work permits are in place.
Assist in carrying out weekly fire alarm tests.
Assist with evacuation procedures, when necessary.
Read gas, electric & water meters and maintain appropriate records including meter readings and logbooks as and when required.
Undertake specialist mandatory equipment training.
Ensure compliance with all contractual / statutory / mandatory undertakings.
To be committed to and champion a strong EHS culture on site.
Safeguarding that staff are competent, adequately trained and supported to enable them to carry out their duties safely.
Maintain a robust internal control environment in order to comply with local regulations To be committed to the Group-wide ethics and compliance programme, ensuring a common approach to doing business the right way and adhering at all times to the core elements of the programme - values, policies/guidance, training/education and compliance risk assessment.
Skills and experience: Significant experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
Strong planning and organisational skills Effective Communicator at all levels Experience of using Ladders / Scaffolding / MEWP Ability to demonstrate a high level of technical competence.
Qualified Electrical and Mechanical Engineer - Electrical bias preferable.
17th edition qualified.
Ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated and driven to achieve set targets.
Experience working with or setting up TPM schedules.
IOSH Managing Safely.
LEAN Six Sigma green belt.
Forklift truck License.
IPAF license.
MEWP Licence.
